Realize Your Beauty Day! is April 28th with a celebration on April 30th!

Starr Kirkland is a bi-coastal actor and spoken word artist. She continues to stay busy in New York working on plays, readings, dance shows, spoken word performances, and programs with youth in the community. Her passion for the advancement of youth with the use of creative arts continues through her work in many programs that foster a creative, open, intellectual environment for young people to express themselves. She works with Realize Your Beauty, which promotes positive body image through theatre arts; she is an instructor at Writopia which runs creative writing workshops for students ages 6 to 18; she performs an original one woman show promoting literacy at The Morgan Library and Museum as Belle da Costa Greene; and she works independently conducting specialty workshops and mentoring young people in the community. In a topsy-turvy world, you can often find her upside down: whether it be in a silk, walking on her hands, or generally being strange in a corner. Obviously, she's a big fan of commas and overly long sentences.
